When I came into this world, I believe a curse was casted on me which manifested through my skin as eczema. Along with many other people in the world, I have struggled with the physical and emotional effects of this skin condition, often times waking up after a night’s sleep to find all the lesions left behind after all the scratching I did. On top of this, I also developed acne starting in my middle school years, becoming more apparent during high school.

I spent countless hours in the drugstore and on the internet trying to remedy my skin conditions, but it wasn’t until fall of 2010 that I first stepped into professional skincare. It was then that I discovered the rewarding and exciting role of being an esthetician and as I learned more and more about it, I became very interested in making it my career. I believe that a career in beauty and wellness will change my life because I never settle for less, and I am confident that I have chosen the premier school, the premier job and the premier industry!

When cosmetologists are cutting people’s hair or when estheticians are giving facials, they are not just trying to pretty someone up, they are promoting overall health. In the fast-paced world that we live in today, I believe that we are needed now more than ever to help others achieve a sense of well-being and serenity.

My battles with acne and eczema have motivated me to turn my weakness into strength, and I want others to realize that they can do the same. As a beauty and wellness professional, I am committed to helping people understand their potential to be a truly beautiful person, both inside and out.
